Starting anew… again.

It’s time to start fresh. Again. Originally my plan was to live with my Grams until September when I return to school for photography. However, life unfolds different each time, and again my plan didn’t fit with reality.

Being twenty five, it has been a challenge to adjust to living with a parental figure, and what with more and more life changes, I have realized that it’s better to be happy with my situation now than save money now for school later. The decision has been made – I am moving into my own space!

The apartment is (again) owned by my parents, this time overtop of my mom’s Homeopathy practice. It’s a lot smaller than my three bedroom from before, but in an effort to declutter and live a less materialistic life, this comes at a good time.

There are small nuances that I really like about the apartment. The stairs are all made from solid wood, there are two large stained glass windows (in the living room and bedroom) that let in the most gorgeous light, it is heated/cooled using green energy (Geothermal), the bathroom is large, the floors are hardwood (except the bedroom – that one will be an adventure), and I have been given permission to paint. That will also be an adventure.

When I say small, I mean it! The living room will just BARELY fit a couch, tiny coffee table, and one of my white IKEA tables for computer/sewing machine, and I doubt that I’ll be able to fit anything else into the bedroom besides my bed. But I vow to carry it off in style, and I know I can accomplish that goal.

Oh another neat thing is that the attic is accessed through my bedroom closet, and we are exploring the possibility of changing the attic into a loft bedroom.

Stay tuned for more updates. I have Method brand cleaning products ready to attack the space (it’s rather grimy) and get a start. I will need assistance style-izing the 70s cupboards, so if you have any ideas, please point me in that direction. Oh, and the photo – that’s not my space, but it’s similar, in a way.
