Baby, it must be cold outside!

Granny Flower Scarf

Scarves, scarves everywhere, and not a _____ to _____.

I didn’t really think that one through, it just seems that I’m always making some type of crocheted scarf. Nevermind the half-finished sweater from last winter, or the pile of sewing patterns stacked somewhere in my storage unit.

Must make scarves.

Happy Heart-Flower Joy

It’s like I have an obsession with neckwear. Or something. Maybe I just like oblong soft things.

Granny Flower ScarfIn my defense, this most recent scarf was more of a ‘need to’ than a ‘want to.’ I had it in my Etsy shop for months (since January ‘08, in fact) but started it just before my trip to Mexico and never had the time (aka motivation) to finish it. I figured that if it sold, payment would be the push to get it done. I was right. But in the time from when I posted it for sale to when it sold, I drastically reduced the price, which didn’t much matter when it was only four granny squares long, but as a finished product, it is worth far more than the 15$ US at which it was purchased.

Darn!

Oh well, it gave me a festive gift idea for my Grams, who frequently commented on how pretty it was, and when I finished, delicately wrapped it around her neck to ‘give it a try.’

Next on the to-do list…

1. finish rainbow scarf for Carrie’s Hair Shoppe (it’s Xmas time, darlin’ need to get the goods in there!)
2. finish knitted gloves for Melissa and Kristi (don’t worry, they already know).
3. Scarf for Grams.
4. Button necklaces galore!
