I love thrifting!

On Saturday afternoon I went out with my friend Angie. We visited the Harvest Festival downtown, which happened to be shutting down by the time we got there; we went to Pizza Hut for fabulous Breadsticks with Cheese and Marina THEN Butter Garlic sauce (must be eaten in that order); then we went to Value Village. She had mentioned she wanted a winter coat, and having luck at “The Village” in the past with nice coats, I suggested we try there to find her dream winter jacket.

To make a long story short, Angie didn’t find a coat, but I did… among other things. I had a photo of my coat but accidentally deleted it. It’s a deep purple wool peacoat with silver buttons. I adore it, and it was only 10$!

Here’s the other things that I took photos of:

Cookie sheet and vase Cake Tin

On the left, a cookie tin for 1.99. A turquoise vase and I’m not sure how much it was because there was no tag on it and i’m too lazy to look at the receipt. On the right, a cake tin. It has a few dents in it, but I love it nonetheless. It’s yellow with a pussywillow print, and the roof of the tin is a copper colour.

On another note, what’s with My Scene Fab Faces dolls? Have you seen the commercial? They whisper to eachother and then the owner of the doll can choose from five faces displayed. In the commercial, they sing “My Scene Fab Faces… she said she said.” How awful is this? Relational bullying is a HUGE problem amongst school-age girls, and the ONLY thing these dolls are doing is encouraging girls to gossip. And on top of that, what’s with the crown on their heads? Gossiping princesses? And the girl can wear the tiara too. What is this world coming to?!

Au revoir!
